Holly Willoughby has pulled out of the Pride Of Britain Awards amid the alleged 'kidnap and murder plot' that is said to have left the star 'distraught'.
The 42 year old mum of three was forced to miss her This Morning presenting job last Thursday, 5 October, after police informed her of the terrifying threat on her life.
She is thought to be on 'indefinite leave' from This Morning, and will not be attending the Pride of Britain Awards on Sunday, 8 October, according to The Sun.
A thirty six year old man has been accused of soliciting to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnap in connection with the star.
Gavin Plumb appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Friday, 6 October , after being held by officers on Wednesday.
Essex Police confirmed they arrested the suspect on Wednesday and he was charged on Friday morning.
Superintendent Tim Tubbs said: "This was an extremely fast paced investigation, with many of our officers and national partners working overnight to secure these charges.
"The safeguarding of any victim is paramount and we will continue to prioritise this as the investigation proceeds."
After first hearing of the news, Holly was said to be “distraught” as she was only alerted to the allegations when police informed producers moments before she was due on-screen.
On Friday, Holly's ITV colleagues said it was a "really worrying sinister story" as they discussed what the TV star has been going through.
ITV is also understood to be providing round-the-clock security and support for the presenter. The Mirror reports how ITV has given her permission to remain off work for as long as she needs. A source said: "Holly has been left distraught by the news.
"This has been an absolutely horrible week for her. At the moment, she really is getting through things hour by hour. Her absolute priority is her own safety and that of her family – who are supporting her through this incredibly difficult time."
Despite a turbulent year for the pair, Phillip Schofield – Holly's former co-presenter on This Morning – is said to have reached out to Holly to offer his support, breaking a reported five-month silence between the once-close pals.
