Hollyoaks star Billy Price's first new role revealed as he joins another soap

Billy Price is swapping the Hollyoaks village for Letherbridge as he has joined the cast of Doctors for a stint.

The actor, who played Sid Sumner in the Channel 4 soap, will appear in an episode set to air next week.

He will be taking on the role of Kyle Mainwaring, a teenager who accompanies his younger brother, Johnny, to The Mill.

Johnny is receiving treatment, but causes a stir when he tells different GP’s that he has different symptoms.

It is soon revealed that Kyle has been skipping meals to ensure that Johnny doesn’t go hungry, as he doesn’t want him to go back into care.

This marks Billy’s first role since leaving Hollyoaks in 2022, after a three-year stint.

During his time on the show, he was involved in the critically-acclaimed County Lines drug storyline, after Sid was groomed by cousin Jordan Price (Connor Calland).

When former drugs boss Victor Brothers (Benjamin O’Mahoney) returned, Sid decided it was time to leave for Europe and put that part of his life behind him for good.

Billy filmed a touching goodbye message to fans after his departure, where he enthused about going ‘on to the next thing’.

Hollyoaks and Doctors are not the only soaps that Billy has a connection with, as the young actor previously auditioned for several roles on EastEnders.

‘I’ve been for so many EastEnders auditions.’ He told the Soap on the Box podcast in 2021. ‘I’ve been up for Bobby Beale and Hunter.

‘I actually got quite far down into those auditions. I got quite far into the Bobby Beale one — I think there were three others left.

‘I didn’t actually get the part, as you do as an actor. You don’t get the part all the time.’

Billy will appear in the Doctors episode called ‘Horse to Water’, which will air on March 8.
