House of the Dragon Ep. 4 Preview: Rhaenyra Targaryen Is Hit With Vile Accusation

The trailer for the fourth episode of the prequel series of ‘Game of Thrones’ also sees Prince Daemon Targaryen returning from a successful end to the war of the stepstone with a new title.

AceShowbiz -The power struggle will continue in the next episode of HBO’s “House of the Dragon“. In a preview for the fourth episode of the prequel series of “Game of Thrones“, it can be seen that one more name has been added to list of potential King.

The preview opens with Rhaenyra Targaryen saying in voiceover, “From my blood, come the prince that was promised. And his will be the song of ice and fire.” Meanwhile, King Viserys claims, “The House of the Dragon will stand as one for a further generation,” with a street performer wondering out loud, “Who will it be? The brother? The daughter? Or the little princeling of three?”

The performer is obviously referring to the King’s brother Prince Daemon Targaryen, Rhaenyra and her newborn step-brother Aegon Targaryen. The preview sees Daemon saying, “They named me King of the Narrow Sea,” after he returns from a successful end to the war of the stepstone. As the next episode is titled “King of the Narrow Sea”, it’s seemingly safe to assume that Daemon will be the center of the outing.

Meanwhile, the tension between Rhaenyra, the heir of the throne, and her father intensifies after he wedded and impregnated her best friend Alicent Hightower, the mother of Aegon. They are seen involved in an argument with the King calling his daughter his “political headache.”

The trailer also hints at Rhaenyra being hit with “a vile accusation.” As King Viserys is seeking the one who is “responsible for this gossip,” Alicent is heard defending Rhaenyra. “It is not in Rhaenyra’s nature to be deceitful,” she seemingly tells her husband, before adding, “I cannot say the same for your brother.”

As for the third episode, it is full of politics, rebuilding relationships as well as plenty of actions. Titled “Second of His Name”, the episode saw the new Queen, Alicent, finally giving King Viserys a male heir named Aegon.

Viewers were also introduced to a pair of twin brothers, Lord Jason and Tyland Lannister (both are played by Jefferson Hall). Tyland is a political strategist in the king’s court, while Jason is the lord of a castle in the west, called Casterly Rock. The episode also hinted at the romance between Rhaenyra and Ser Criston Cole of the king’s guard.

The Hand of the King, Otto Hightower, meanwhile, was trying to get his grandson Aegon as the heir over Rhaenyra. King Viserys noticed Otto’s motive, prompting him to have a drunken-no-more-fake-friends tantrum. On the other hand, King’s Master of Laws, Lord Strong, advised the King to get Rhaenyra find someone to marry.

Based on “Fire & Blood ” by George R. R. Martin, “House of the Dragon” airs on Sundays on HBO.
