Huge Channel 4 reality show lands second series after first was a massive hit | The Sun

SCARED Of The Dark has landed a second series after the first was a huge success.

The social experiment, which saw a collection of celebs face their fear of darkness by living in it for an entire week, proved to be a successful addition to Channel 4's reality roster.

Viewers were hooked on watching the likes of Scarlett Moffatt, Gazza and Chris Eubank squeal, giggle and sulk their way through a set of tough challenges.

Now, it's been revealed that show bosses are already thinking about which celebrities to sign up.

A source exclusively told The Sun: : "Everyone at Channel 4 was so pleased with the first series – viewers loved it and it was a huge hit.

"There was no question about going forward with a second one – now it's a case of signing up another great cast of celebs."

Former footballer Gazza, 55, successfully spent 180 hours in the dark and his fellow celebrities agreed he was the most deserving of the prize.

He said of his win: “People always question my mental strength but my success on this series proves that I am strong.

“I was nervous going in there but having got this far on the series made me the happiest man around.  I’m so happy. It’s unbelievable.  I’ve got my smile back.  I’m a better person.”

Paul continued: “I got electrocuted and got shot with a cannonball in the bollocks. I f**king fell backwards. I thought I was 50 foot up in the air and I went through all that. So to come out the other side and to be smiling, is such an amazing achievement and to win it is like the most unbelievable feeling, it’s just fantastic.

“I’m really honoured to have won but in my eyes, all my fellow Scared of the Dark celebrities are winners. They all did really well and I really enjoyed spending those eight days getting to know them in the dark. We worked so well as a team.”

Ex-boxer Chris made the shock decision to walk early after struggling to get on with his fellow stars.
