CHANNEL 4 reality show Scared of The Dark has reportedly been cancelled after its huge debut with EastEnders legend Danny Dyer.
The social experiment, which saw a collection of celebs face their fear of darkness by living in it for an entire week, proved to be a successful addition to Channel 4's reality roster.
But budget cuts at Channel 4 are said to have affected Scared of The Dark, Naked Attraction, Four Weddings, and Rescue: Extreme Medics – with the shows being axed.
According to the Daily Mail, staff at the struggling channel are calling the culling of these shows a 'bloodbath'.
An insider told the publication: "At first everyone was in total shock when Four Weddings was cancelled.
"It’s almost unheard of that a show that is going really well is decommissioned, but as news started to spread, other shows were falling down too.

"The casting team were already in place to start on Naked Attraction and were all told they were no longer needed as they were not making another series."
Popular panel show The Last Leg is also believed to have had its episode order slashed for its upcoming series.
Viewers were hooked on Scared of The Dark and were left craving another run of the series hosted by cockney geezer Danny Dyer.
The first run saw the likes of Scarlett Moffatt, Gazza and Chris Eubank squealing, giggling and sulking their way through a set of tough challenges.

One fan said on Twitter: "Great series Scared Of The Dark, really enjoyed not knowing what’s next and what they might throw at the celebs.
"Channel 4 we have to have another series please, but next time a longer series if possible."
Former footballer Gazza, 55, successfully spent 180 hours in the dark and his fellow celebrities agreed he was the most deserving of the prize.
He said of his win: “People always question my mental strength but my success on this series proves that I am strong.
“I was nervous going in there but having got this far on the series made me the happiest man around. I’m so happy. It’s unbelievable. I’ve got my smile back. I’m a better person.”
Paul continued: “I got electrocuted and got shot with a cannonball in the bollocks. I f**king fell backwards. I thought I was 50 foot up in the air and I went through all that. So to come out the other side and to be smiling, is such an amazing achievement and to win it is like the most unbelievable feeling, it’s just fantastic.
“I’m really honoured to have won but in my eyes, all my fellow Scared of the Dark celebrities are winners. They all did really well and I really enjoyed spending those eight days getting to know them in the dark. We worked so well as a team.”
Ex-boxer Chris made the shock decision to walk early after struggling to get on with his fellow stars.
Max George also left a day early after struggling with the grief of losing his bandmate Tom Parker.
