Huge EastEnders story for Stacey as she 'does something she's never done before'

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) is never too far way from the drama in EastEnders. In fact, it seems to follow her wherever she goes.

That is set to continue until at least Christmas Day, when she will potentially commit murder alongside Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylfoth) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).

The much loved character was featured heavily in the flash-forward episode of the BBC Soap, which saw the dead body revealed, though kept its identity hidden.

Stacey was seen with blood on her hands, suggesting that she was very hands-on in the murder, if you’ll pardon the pun.

However, executive producer Chris Clenshaw has teased that Stacey will do ‘something she’s never done before’ as this storyline progresses.

‘Not only has Stacey been dealing with the rising cost of living, but also struggling to keep her pregnant daughter out of harm’s way’, he said.

‘This year Stacey finds herself doing something she’s never done before in an effort to protect her family and unborn grandchild.’

We know that Chris isn’t referring to murder here, as Stacey is no stranger to a whodunnit.

She was one of 10 suspects in the infamous Who Killed Archie Mitchell? storyline, which came to a head on the shows 25th anniversary, in a live episode which saw Stacey unveiled as the killer.

Of course, this doesn’t rule her out of being involved in the murder, but rather suggests that there is even more on the cards for Stacey in the coming months.

From the first ever live episode of EastEnders to the first flash-forward episode, Lacey has been involved in both.

Even after being involved in such a large scale whodunnit in the past, Lacey is thrilled to have been included in this one.

‘It was really exciting when we were told’, she revealed.

‘The six of us went up for a meeting with Chris and he told us all about this idea he had about using a flashforward scene, and I think it’s really exciting to do something we’ve never done before.

‘For it to be with six women is also really exciting because that is not something that happens very often.’
