Idris Elba breaks silence on Luther film sequel after BBC drama headed to Netflix | The Sun

IDRIS Elba has broken his silence about wanting to film a second Luther movie.

The star told excited fans to keep their 'fingers crossed' for a Luther film sequel.

Fans have seen the Luther brand turn from series to film, moving from the BBC to Netflix. Luther: The Fallen Sun premiered on Netflix in February with massive success.

Luther: The Fallen Sun tells the story of detective John Luther a disgraced detective played by Idris who breaks out of prison to hunt down a sadistic serial killer terrorising the town.

When asked about the success of Luther in a recent interview with Collider, the Luther star said: "It did really well. Luther ended up being one of the top five most streamed films on Netflix, which is an incredible achievement, since it was the first film from the television show.

"I'm hoping to make another one. I love Luther. I love that character, and I love where I can possibly take him, as a story and as a character. So, yeah, keep your fingers crossed."
