He and wife Britney Spears are set to divorce just 14 months after tying the knot.
And now photos have emerged showing actor Sam, 29, showing him looking drastically different.
Sam and his father moved to the US from Iran in 2006 when he was 12-years-old.
He initially pursued a career as a college football player before getting cut from the team and being forced to switch directions and enrolling to study criminal justice.
Forced to take on three jobs to make his way, Sam previously opened up about gorging on junk food to get through the long days.

In the before photos Sam can be seen before losing more than 100lbs and getting ripped.
Shocking snaps also show his severely decaying teeth before having implants and crowns to give him a Hollywood smile that caught the attention of pop princess Britney, 41.
After his transformation Sam was cast in the music video for Britney's single Slumber Party with the couple going public soon after.
He previously told Men's Health: "I was eating Doritos for breakfast, fast food, sugar, candy, no protein, a lot of carbs, and drinking sugary sodas.

"My nutrition was extremely horrible. The stress and the fear of not going anywhere [in life] combined gave me my depression."
Earlier this week it was revealed Sam and Britney had split, with him filing for divorce.
While she has yet to address the break-up, in a new statement he said: "After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.
"We will hold on to the love and respect we have for each other, and I wish her the best always."
He continued: "S**t happens. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful."
In a shock twist it's been claimed Sam caught Britney cheating with a staffer at their house.
And in a sensational report yesterday, TMZ reported that Sam claims Britney 'gave him a black eye while he was sleeping'.
Britney broke her social media silence hours after news of their split emerged with a bizarre post about buying a horse.
