Tess Daly is returning to screens tonight as the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing gets underway.
The popular TV presenter has been a familiar face on our screens for many years, first bagging her role as Strictly host back in 2004 after her appearances on Get Your Kit Off, Smash Hits TV, SMTV Live and Back To Reality.
Tess, 53, is now one of the most sought-after presenters in the TV industry, but she also has a busy life off-screen being a mother to two daughters, who she shares with her fellow TV presenter husband Vernon Kay.
Tess and Vernon have been one of the most high-profile couples on TV over the past few decades but despite this they keep much of their private life out of the spotlight.
Here's how the couple first met and the sexting scandal that rocked their relationship.
How did Tess Daly and Vernon Kay meet?
Tess first met Vernon while he was working as a presenter on Channel 4's T4 back in 2001.
The couple had a first meeting that Tess later described as "explosive" and started dating soon after they met.
Speaking about how their romance began, Tess told Digital Spy in 2013: “It was all quite immediate, really, because we instantly had such a blast together.
“I couldn’t imagine having more fun with anyone else. It was pretty explosive, I tell you.”
Just two years later, the happy couple tied the knot in a ceremony at St Mary's Church in Vernon's hometown of Horwich.
They've since gone on to have two children together, welcoming their first daughter Phoebe in 2004, followed by their second daughter Amber in 2009.
Vernon Kay's sexting scandal
Since they first began dating, Tess and Vernon's relationship appeared to be going from strength to strength and they quickly became one of the most loved couples on TV, even presenting the singing competition Just The Two Of Us together from 2006 to 2007.
However, their relationship took a rocky turn in 2010 when it was revealed that Vernon had been sending racy messages to glamour model Rhia Sugden.
The former Radio One DJ confessed to the flirty messages and issued an apology, telling The Sun at the time: "Tess is extremely upset about this and we're working through it. But in some ways I'm glad this story has come out. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
"I knew it was getting silly. I'm never going to do it again and hopefully I can clear the slate clean and start again. I'm so sorry. I've been an idiot and I've let my family down."
Despite the scandal, the couple managed to work through it and stay together.
In 2015 Vernon admitted that he had been in contact with Rhian again, but said it was only to discuss the incident in 2010.
During his appearance onI'm A Celebrity in 2020 Vernon also revealed that he and Tess had since renewed their vows to each other.
