Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is set to suffer a terrifying health scare in upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, after he falls ill during a salsa class.
The popular character has had a lot to contend with lately, and things take a worrying turn this week when he attends the class with Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) and has to leave halfway through, clutching his chest and admitting he doesn’t feel well.
The scare doesn’t end there either, as he goes to see his doctor – so could this be the end for Roy?
Here’s what you need to know…
Is Roy Cropper leaving Coronation Street?
As far as we know there are no plans for Roy to leave Coronation Street in the near future.
However, it remains unclear what exactly is wrong with him.
The character initially has difficulty persuading Evelyn that he was unwell as she chides him for leaving the class so abruptly.
However later in the week he attends an appointment with Dr Gaddas and describes how he’s been suffering chest pains and breathlessness.
Dr Gaddas tells him she’ll arrange for some tests, and when Evelyn finds out she insists on accompanying him to the hospital.
The character has had a lot to contend with recently, from getting to grips with his first ever phone through to having to tell Evelyn that her beloved dog Cerberus died after eating an Eccles cake which had dropped on the floor of the cafe – which led to her branding the place a death trap.
However, he’s recently gained a new canine companion of his own, taking ownership of his friend Melvyn’s dog Freddie after he passed away unexpectedly.
Could he be adding health issues to all of this? We’ll just have to keep watching to find out what happens.
Coronation Street continues on Monday nights on ITV at 8pm.
