ITV bosses asked whether staff call the audience ‘Tower Block Traceys’
It’s been reported that serious concerns were raised to ITV bosses over the welfare of Phillip Schofield’s young lover at the time of their affair.
According to The Mail on Sunday, a senior manager at Loose Women sent an email to the station’s top bosses with fear over Person X’s welfare.
Following the end of the affair with Phillip, it’s believed the runner was moved over from This Morning to Loose Women.
The source claims: “Early 2020 was a very difficult time for a number of people working on Loose Women. They were deeply saddened to see Person X’s mental health deteriorate.
“They would see him struggle at work but also outside of it, too; they witnessed him in some worrying states.”
The source claimed that during that time period, person X’s behaviour became volatile, which now in light of the affair makes sense.
They continued: “At the time various people had heard rumours about his relationship and it was thought that the fact he needed help with his mental health ought to be escalated to those higher up so he could get some support.
“It was then that the senior manager decided to put it in writing so there would be a paper trail of their concerns.”

However, when ITV bosses, Dame Carolyn McCall and Kevin Lygo appeared in front of a special Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport committee, they stated they were unaware of concerns for Person X.
At the hearing, Dame Carolyn McCall called the affair “deeply inappropriate” due to the imbalance of power and dynamics.
The two bosses revealed they had asked both Phillip and Person X about the affair at the time when speculation first started, which they both denied.
Kevin Lygo commented: “He looked me in the eye and promised me that there was absolutely no truth whatsoever in this, in the rumours of this relationship.”

Dame Carolyn confessed ITV would not turn a blind eye to something as serious as this had there been evidence.
She added: “We asked multiple times of both individuals, both formally and informally.
“Because we had no evidence, no one brought us anything tangible, either on the production floor or from the outside, there was only hearsay and rumour and speculation.
“Nobody would be turning a blind eye to something. Nobody here on the management board would ever turn a blind eye to something as serious as this.”
