ITV confirms return of The Chase and Tipping Point amid Queen's death coverage – but there's a twist | The Sun

ITV has confirmed the return of The Chase and Tipping Point amid coverage of The Queen's death – but there's a twist.

The popular quiz shows were dropped from the schedules earlier this week to allow for extended news coverage on The Queen's journey from Balmoral to London following her death last Thursday aged 96.

News outlets have been documenting her final journey as well as King Charles III's tour of the United Kingdom as the new Monarch.

However, ITV has now confirmed Tipping Point and The Chase will return to their usual time slots on Thursday, September 15.

Before them, Tenable will also be back on at 3pm after Dickinson's Real Deal.

Unfortunately, all four shows will be repeat episodes, not new ones as fans might have hoped.

Meanwhile, soap fans will get a bumper crop of episodes, with Emmerdale airing a triple bill to try and catch up after it was taken off air earlier in the week as well due to Royal coverage.

The first of three half an hour episodes will air at 7.30pm and then one they finish at 9pm, Coronation Street fans will be treated to an hour long episode, taking things up to ITV News at 10 at 10pm.

The National Television Awards were originally supposed to air on Thursday from Wembley Arena in London, however, it has been postponed due to the Queen's death and impending funeral on Monday.

Organisers said in a brief statement last Friday: "We have taken the decision to postpone this year’s National Television Awards as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
