The bosses of ITV's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! have reportedly issued an important warning after two campmates were attacked by leeches.
Since this year's series hit our screens on Sunday 19 November, viewers at home have seen the celebrities face their fears of everything from insects to heights in the show's Bushtucker Trials in an attempt to win meals for camp.
But it's not just the trials that have caused the campmates to become acquainted with critters. Following a downpour Down Under earlier this week, and with heavy rain continuing, some blood-sucking leeches have reportedly found their way into camp.
According to a report published in The Sun, Sam Thompson and Nick Pickard have both been victims to the unpleasant critters.
A source told the publication: "Sam had a leech attach itself to his foot and Nick had one on his hand – the rain has brought them all out.
"Production has told the celebs to take extra care and be vigilant. While leeches fall off naturally once they've drunk their fill, if the celebs are feeling weak, tired and hungry anyway it's far from ideal."
The source also said that the risk posed by infection at the leeches' entry side was a "big problem" for the show.
OK! has contacted representatives from ITV for comment.
The report comes after it was announced on yesterday's show (Wednesday 22 November), that the camp would see two new arrivals as jockey Frankie Dettori and boxer Tony Bellew prepare to make their arrivals as this year's latecomers – much to the delight of social media users.
In a shock twist, hosts Ant and Dec revealed that the existing camp would be split up into two smaller groups, with one of the teams staying in the main camp and another heading to Snake Rock.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to discuss the news, one social media user wrote: "Tony bellow and frankie Dettori entering the camp tomorrow night. Tony will be great fun and I think frankie will argue with Nigel you know. #ImACeleb."
Another added: "If his appearances on @ALOTO is anything to go by, Tony is going to be hilarious! One camp mate I’m actually looking forward to #TonyBellew #ImACeleb."
A third wrote: "Tony Bellew On Im A Celeb my new fav !! Love his no nonsense approach and he won’t take s**t of anyone !! Good job itv !! #ImACeleb #tonybellew."
