Fred Sirieix, most known for being the star of Channel 4's First Dates and road tripping with Gordon Ramsay and Gino D'Campo, became the third campmate to be voted out of I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this week.
The 51 year old French maître d'hôtel lasted almost three weeks in the jungle, and right from the start, he made himself comfortable around the campfire as the camp chef.
However, when former contestant Nella Rose became camp leader, the 26 year old decided to switch things up and assign Fred to pot washing duties while giving This Morning's Josie Gibson a chance to shine in the kitchen.
Viewers saw these role changes cause a bit of a rift in the jungle, with Fred regularly interfering or offering his suggestions when Josie was cooking. He also expressed to EastEnders' star Danielle Harold that he wished Josie "would listen" to him, as "she hardly cooks at home."
During his exit interview, Ant and Dec even brought the conflict up, to which Fred told them that "[Josie] doesn't know what she does in the kitchen" and she just makes it up "as she goes along."
Following these comments both in and out of the jungle, Fred faced a lot of backlash online in terms of how he treated Josie. Now, he's addressed the issue and taken accountability for his actions, especially after revealing he received stern words from his mum.
While speaking to Emma Willis and Rylan Clark on today's episode of This Morning, Rylan confronted Fred about the situation. "I've got to be honest with you. We know you're a good cook, and I don't wanna bring up the beef – or kangaroo shall we say – but you are our Josie, what was going on there?" he pressed.
"Look, in all fairness, the meals that Josie cooked were good. They were very good," Fred said, before going on to explain what was going through his mind at the time.
According to the TV personality, he was "concerned" about what Josie would do with the bones, vegetables and peels after dinner as he wanted to recycle them and make stock to "improve" the food the day after.
Elsewhere in the interview, Fred also revealed that he took a phone call from his mum who called him out him for not treating Josie right.
"She said to me 'Frederick' – she calls me that when she's upset – what did you do with Josie? Why were you telling her what to do? What was going through your mind?"
Fred then shared that his mother called his behaviour "unacceptable," and warned him not to repeat his actions.
