ITV launches search to find new Emmerdale boss – and anyone can apply | The Sun

EMMERDALE has launched its hunt for its new big boss.

The ITV soap has opened applications for a new Executive Producer to replace outgoing soap boss Jane Hudson.

Jane announced she was quitting the show last month and will leave later this year.

For her replacement ITV want an “inspirational” leader with a proven track record in soaps and someone who can take charge in a crisis including “taking into account individual’s mental health needs and the needs of the programmes and of ITV”.

The closing date for applications on the ITV Jobs website is later this month.

The executive producer helmed the show through its dramatic 50th Birthday last year and will depart after leading the show for almost 1000 episodes.

Jane said: “I’ve had a wonderful time at Emmerdale and feel very lucky to have spent the last five years working alongside such a hardworking and talented team.

“I’m extremely proud of what we‘ve achieved both on and off screen, especially during the pandemic when we all pulled together to make sure we never went off air.

“As hard as it is to say goodbye to my fictional family of villagers, I can’t wait to have weekends back with my real family.

“But mostly, I can’t wait to be an Emmerdale viewer again and have no idea what’s coming next!”
