Jack Whitehall emotional in Diary of a CEO teaser
Jack Whitehall broke down in tears as he explained to Steven Bartlett how much he wanted to make his dad Michael proud of him.
Speaking on Diary of a CEO podcast, Jack added he can’t wait to see how amazing his dad is with his own child.
“I wanted to have a baby because I wanted him to be around and to know my child and spend time with my kid,” he shared.
“I’ve seen how amazing he is with my niece. He’s the most loving person ever and so I want him to have a relationship with my kid.”
Jack continued: “I want to do all of these things and have success in my career that I can share with him, and he can see these things and enjoy them.

“I do still think a lot about impressing him. His approval does still mean a hell of a lot to me.”
In the same interview, Jack explained his partner had “some health issues” and “a bit of a journey to get here”.
“It’s quite a scary period,” he said. “I’m just really looking forward to the moment the baby is born.
“I say that like ‘and then you can relax,’ but it’s 18 years and it doesn’t stop then. Maybe I’ve just framed it in quite a positive way.”

He continued: “I’m excited about becoming a dad because I never thought I would get to it this early either.
“My dad was nearly 50 when he had me… I was like, ‘Well, I’ll be an old dad. I’ll live my best life and then when I get to 50, I’ll just pop out a couple of kids.’
“And I always thought that was the case and then ultimately started looking at friends and how happy they were and my sister and my niece and thinking, ‘Oh maybe I do want that.’
“And I began to yearn for that and then I met Roxy who is the right person and we felt like we were both ready.”
Jack isn’t the only one to speak about his new baby as his parents Michael and Hilary previously spoke about the impending birth.
Hilary said on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show: “We’re very excited.
“If she looks like her mum…he or she will hopefully have lovely long legs like mummy. Mommy is gorgeous. We love Roxy.
“I’ve got to be honest, you’ll appreciate this, she’s not a woman you want to get stuck next to in a photograph when you look like I do. The direct comparison is brutal.”
