Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) is currently falling for a lady called Crystal in Coronation Street – the Ibiza club rep he met a few days before Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still) attacked him with acid. However, the twist to the tale is this – Crystal isn’t messaging Ryan at all – but Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) is.
‘The motivation behind her adopting this Crystal façade is a genuine one; she doesn’t want to cause Ryan any more pain’, Charlotte told us recently.
‘When Crystal says she doesn’t want anything to do with Ryan and she tells Daisy that she has to be the one to tell Ryan, Daisy doesn’t want to do this because she knows that he is already in a really negative, fragile headspace and she doesn’t want to be the person to bear even more bad news.
‘Daisy’s plan is totally the wrong thing to do and it’s absolutely ridiculous, but it does come from a good place.’
As a result of the constant texting, Daisy has started catching feelings for Ryan again.
In a recent episode of the ITV soap, after Justin delivered even more lies while up in court, Daisy kissed Ryan which left her in turmoil.
As a new week begins, Daisy receives another text to ‘Crystal’ from Ryan, detailing how he went to see Daisy, but it was a huge mistake.
Later on, it becomes apparent that Ryan knows he’s being catchfished but hasn’t worked out who is responsible, as Carla (Alison King) urges him to try and find out who is behind it and should report them to the police.
Overhearing the conversation, Daisy masks her anxiety, but will she confess the truth?
Or manage to cover for herself?
‘He would feel an explosion of contempt for Daisy because he feels like he has lost Crystal and Daisy in one fell swoop’, Ryan Prescott told us recently, discussing how his character would feel after the truth is finally exposed.
‘The thing is, Ryan has had such an intimate back and forth over the past month or so with ‘Crystal’ that he is genuinely starting to believe that in a different world, in a different time or somewhere down the line that there might be something there with her because they have developed an actual relationship.
‘There has been a lot of natural chemistry between them, and Ryan is finding joy in investing in their relationship. So, to find out that it’s been Daisy the whole time would make him feel humiliated because he has been very raw and ‘himself’ with this person.
