This Morning: Gino calls James Martin 'a filthy chef'
This Morning saw resident chef Gino D’Acampo back on the ITV show for its latest instalment, and he wasted no time in causing chaos and branding fellow TV chef James Martin “a filthy chef”.
While demonstrating how he prepares a dish, Gino was showing hosts Holly Willoughby and Dermot O’Leary how he folds eggwhites.
“When you do the eggwhite you keep folding it like this, okay, because you don’t want to lose the volume on the eggwhites,” the Italian cook instructed.
“James Martin said it was better to fold with your hands…” Holly pointed out.
“Yes, he was adamant about it!” Dermot chimed as Gino appeared baffled.
“He said just dunk your fists in it,” Holly clarified as Gino seemed to disapprove.
“Filthy chef, that’s why,” Gino muttered. “He’s a filthy chef.”
The 46-year-old asked: “Why would you want to fold it with your hands?”
“He’s got lovely big hands,” Dermot added, while Holly detailed: “He said it’s more control.”
Gino decided to give it a go and plunged his hand into the mixture.

“Yeah, now you like it, don’t you?” Holly laughed as Gino continued.
“Oh wow, oh it’s quite satisfying, it’s like putting your finger into a bubbly candle,” the chef commented.
Raising his hand covered in egg white, he asked: “And now?”
“He had to wash his hands,” Dermot replied as Gino headed to the sink and complained: “So now all the cream goes into here.”
As he continued cooking, he remarked: “James Martin – please.”
Gino’s appearance in the show marked his first in a few weeks, and he quickly made his presence felt by making things in the studio awkward as he asked what he has “missed” in the last month.
This Morning has been making headlines for weeks following Phillip Schofield’s exit from the ITV show and his admission to having an affair with a younger male colleague.
Holly and Dermot appeared awkward and quickly moved on from Gino’s loaded remark.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
