Close pal Jane Seymour says Olivia Newton-John was “skeletal and frail” in her final years before her passing on Monday (August 8).

During Tuesday’s (August 9) visit to ITV studios, Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins welcomed viewers back to Good Morning Britain to discuss the latest news headlines this morning.

And one of the biggest stories on everyone’s lips was the devastating loss of the Grease starlet who sadly lost her lengthy battle with breast cancer at the age of 73.

As the tributes poured in for the late Hollywood star, the co-hosts welcomed the blonde bombshell’s closest pal onto the show to discuss what she was really like away from the cameras.

During the emotional interview, Jane confessed that in her final years, the actress was in “a lot of pain” as she clung to life for her friends and family.

She told viewers: “I saw quite a lot of her while she was ill and she was in a lot of pain and it was really tough to see, she was such a fighter.

“No one imagined that she’d be able to keep going as long as she did but she used to say to me, ‘I’m a thriver not a survivor’.

“She supported me in everything I ever did, she would only ask about my life and how were my kids and how life was going on.”

The brunette beauty went on to confess how she expected her best friend to pass years before her death but the country singer continued to fight against her terminal issues.

Jane continued: “Actually the interesting thing was, I thought she was going to pass many years ago, about two or three years ago.

“I remember being with her and I just thought, ‘This is the last time I’m ever going to see her’. “

The British actress went on to reveal that in the last few months before her passing that she was extremely “skeletal and frail” but surrounded by her close friends and family towards the end.

She added: “She was skeletal and frail and in a lot of pain and I just thought, ‘I’m going to get that call next week’ and she just kept coming back, kept bouncing back.

“I think she loved life; she loved her husband and her daughter and she hung in there for a really, really long time.”
