Netflix's latest crime series, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story has been slammed by a cousin of one of the victims.
The series dropped on the streaming service on September 21 and follows one of America's most prolific serial killers who became known as the Milwaukee cannibal due to the nature of his horrific crimes.
Largely told from the point of view of his victims, the harrowing series follows the notorious killer, played by Evan Peters, who reigned terror on several boys and men between 1978 and 1991.

Errol Lindsey was just 19 .years old when he became one of Dahmer's victims and his sister, Rita Isbell, came face-to-face with her brothers killer during his trial where she infamously screamed at him, a heartbreaking moment that was depicted in the Netflix series.
Since the series' release, a clip comparing the real courtroom footage to the Netflix scene was shared by Rita's cousin, Eric Perry, who called the entire experience "retraumatising" for his family.
He took to Twitter and wrote: "I’m not telling anyone what to watch, I know true crime media is huge rn, but if you’re actually curious about the victims, my family (the Isbell’s) are pissed about this show.
"It’s retraumatizing over and over again, and for what? How many movies/shows/documentaries do we need?"
Referencing Rita taking the stand in court, he said: "Like recreating my cousin having an emotional breakdown in court in the face of the man who tortured and murdered her brother is WILD. WIIIIIILD."
Perry went on to make a bombshell claim that the families of the victims were not contacted prior to the series being made, confessing they found out "when everyone else did."
He added: "To answer the main question, no, they don’t notify families when they do this. It’s all public record, so they don’t have to notify (or pay!) anyone. My family found out when everyone else did.
"So when they say they’re doing this “with respect to the victims” or “honoring the dignity of the families”, no one contacts them.
My cousins wake up every few months at this point with a bunch of calls and messages and they know there’s another Dahmer show. It’s cruel."
