CORONATION Street star Jennie McAlpine has opened up about the names of her children after welcoming a daughter called Doris.
The Fiz Dobbs actress, 39, confirmed the arrival of her third child with husband Chris Farr on Monday.
They are now a family-of-five as Jennie and Chris have two older children, Albert, eight, and four-year-old Hilda.
Jennie – who has been a firm favourite on the ITV soap since 2001 – revealed the sweet Coronation Street link her children's names.
"It was a big conversation. There were a lot of boys' names discarded, mainly because of football," Jennie said.
"Albert is a Manchester United fan and I think he left us with about two boys' names to choose from.

"Doris is a family name and I love that. It goes with Albert and Hilda.
"They're also all very 'Corrie'.
"The actress who played the first Rovers landlady, Annie Walker, was called Doris Speed so there's obviously something in my DNA that means these baby names keep happening."
She added to OK! magazine: "People have said before that Albert and Hilda sound like two childhood sweethearts writing to each other during the war.

"Now Doris is my aunty who has come to join them."
Doris has already met some of the Corrie stars as Jennie added: "She had lots of cuddles in the green room with Maureen and Alan and we met my new mother-in-law, who is played by Claire Sweeney.
"And then we went to the canteen where Alan held Doris while I ate my lunch, which was bliss."
Her daughter's name is Doris and she was born just before midnight on April 4 at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Hospital, weighing 7lbs 11oz.
Jennie left the ITV soap earlier this year as she headed on maternity leave.
Her character was written out of the soap after she got a job offer she couldn't refuse in Norwich.
The actress has revealed all about her daughter's early arrival – five months after she was born.
The mother-of-three told OK magazine: "I’m so aware of how precious this time is and just how quickly it goes. It’s chaos, though. I mean, it was chaos before but now it’s another level!"
Jennie will be returning to the soap after her one year of maternity leave.
