Jeopardy! viewers think contestant is Mayim Bialik lookalike

On Tuesday, NBC’s beloved game show Jeopardy returned to screens with another instalment of the competition. However, fans were left deeply distracted by Mara Lasko who appeared in the latest episode of season 39.

Thousands switched to NBC to watch the tense Jeopardy! final to witness a new champion get crowned.

After a five-day streak, the competition came down to Nicole Rudolph, Mara Lusko and Lisa Sriken.

As Nicole had already bagged $16,800 on her first day, fans were eager to see how the daunting game show would play out.

Despite this, many viewers were left distracted by Mara’s appearance and took to social media to compare her to the show’s host, Mayim Bialik.

After spotting the resemblance @laurenlosmith tweeted: “You just know Mara was hoping [Mayim Bialik] was hosting tonight.”

@SempreLiberal shared: “I thought she was Mayim in disguise and it was an April Fool’s episode, but April 1 is Saturday.”

A third viewer @jrenshawcpa agreed: “My hubby noticed the resemblance as well.”

An amazed @afollyofmolly added: “I was also thinking she looks like Mayim!”

An unconvinced @BigArtThot stated: “Nah that’s 100% just Mayim pretending to be someone else to join in on the fun.”

While @BrianPHuntley remarked: “Imagine if Mayim had been hosting this episode!”

The competition proved to be a close game between the trio, as Lisa was crowned the winner at the very last moment.

During Final Jeopardy, Nicole had $9,600, Lisa was at $5,400, and Mara secured $4,200.

The question under “Transportation USA” read: “This public agency runs the USA’s busiest bus terminal, opened in 1950 for commuters awed by its polished steel & stone.”

Lisa and Nicole both answered correctly with “Port Authority.”

Lisa became a fan-favourite after adding “please clap,” to her answer which successfully prompted the audience to clap.

The surprised host, Ken Jennings remarked: “Wow, it worked!

“You’re going to open a real pandora’s box I think,” the 48-year-old added.

As a result, Lisa gained $4,201, which saw her score increase to $9,601 and therefore winning the game.

After answering the question with “MTA,” Nicole failed and went from lead position to third place.

Fans will soon see Mayim back on screens as she will resume her hosting duties on Monday, May 1 for the last four months of the season.
