It looks like Jimmy King (Nick Miles) is set for another scrap with his nephew Tom (James Chase) in tonight's episode of Emmerdale after Belle Dingle's (Eden Taylor-Draper) recent confession continues to put him on edge.
In first-look pictures of this evening's episode (Wednesday 24th May), Belle is seen trying to get between the uncle and nephew after Jimmy tries to defend Tom's father Carl, who was responsible for killing his own dad before dying in 2012, and Tom doesn't want to hear it.
Tom, played by newcomer James Chase, returned to Emmerdale earlier this year and while his ex-girlfriend Belle has tried to convince him to reconcile with his uncle Jimmy, she's so far been unsuccessful.
In a teaser clip of tonight's episode shared by ITV, Jimmy attempts to "smooth things over" with his nephew, telling him: "Perhaps we both have things that we need to set right."
"I understand how you feel about your grandad's death but I don't think you know everything that was going on. He wasn't listening to any of us. We were hauliers but he wanted us to be property developers until his show home collapsed and killed some of the villagers. "
When Tom asks why he needs to know any of this, Jimmy continues: "Because when he died, he was the most hated man in the village. Twelve different people were suspected of killing him, including me. I certainly hated him enough."
While Jimmy acknowledges that this is hard for Tom to hear, he interrupts saying that his uncle doesn't "know the half of it".
"My mum hated him so every time I did something wrong, she said I was taking after him. Now I know why. That's why I don't want to hear any more excuses. Just admit that your brother was a murderer and a rapist and we should all be glad he's dead," he said, with Jimmy shouting; "Take that back!"
Belle then gets involved, telling Jimmy that "there's no point fighting" — however, she has other things on her mind, having recently told Tom about her involvement in Gemma Andrews' death.
Tom King returned to Emmerdale in April, with fans worrying that he could be harbouring "sinister" intentions as he gets to know his ex Belle, particularly as he was shown to be watching her from a far and has a history of stalking.
