Music lovers across the globe have been left gobsmacked, after Usher was announced as 2024's Super Bowl Halftime Show performer in a viral clip with Kim Kardashian.
His upcoming performance was confirmed by Apple Music, the NFL, and Roc Nation. The announcement was also shared on social media on Sunday (September 24) in a short video that went viral soon after.
In the minute-long clip, a short sequence from Usher's music video for his hit single Confessions was shown. The singer could be seen talking to someone on the phone which was Kim.

Sharing the exciting news while doing her makeup, the mother-of-four said: "I finally got the answer to those rumours, it’s not about me, it’s about you. You’re doing the Super Bowl!"
Usher is clearly shocked by the news. He then tells the reality TV icon: "Don’t play with me, man."
Kim replied: "You’re playing the Apple Music Halftime Show in Vegas!" Kim assures him, insisting she "doesn’t have time to play."
Sharing the exciting news, Kim, 42, headed over to her Instagram to post the video. And once the video was shared fans rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts.
One social media user wrote: "Sooooo good!!! The marketing is A1!!!! This might be just as exciting as Beyonce's super bowl!!!"
Another thrilled fan penned: "I've seen @usher live over dozen times in my life and I can tell you he always overdeliver so this is the best choice." And a third user wrote: "OMG THIS IS SO GOOD."
But despite the praise, there were still some fans confused regarding the promotion and Kim's involvement in the scene. One fan wrote: "Why Kim? Why not like chilli from tlc? Or even Justin Bieber why Kim?"
While another fan joked about the old footage you for the video. They wrote: "Dang budget cuts hitting everybody, had to get usher from 15 years ago to make the announcement."
In a statement, Usher, 44, said he is honoured to be chosen for the iconic halftime show. The statement read: "It's an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list "I can't wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they've seen from me before.
"Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I'll see you real soon."
