Bonus scene of Det. Muncy’s Law and Order: SVU goodbye
Law and Order SVU star Mariska Hargitay is part of the writers’ strike picket line following the news there will be a delay for the show’s 25th series.
The Olivia Benson actress, who has been in Law and Order SVU from the very beginning, was pictured in a black SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) while holding up a picket line sign.
She shared the picture alongside a caption with various hashtags including “SAGStrike2023”, “Solidarity” and “AFamilyThatStrikesTogether…”
Hargitay was pictured with her husband and Blue Bloods actor Peter Hermann, who was also seen holding up a sign in protest.
They are among the many stars who have taken to the streets to show their support after series, like Law and Order, have been delayed.

The legal drama’s milestone series was expected to make its debut on NBC in the next couple of months but sadly, this will no longer be the case.
The network confirmed in April Law and Order SVU would be back for season 25, further cementing its status as the US’ longest-running primetime live-action series in history.
While viewers were excited to see what Benson and the rest of the gang would get up to next, there will be a delay to the season kicking off due to the strikes.
Instead, NBC plans to air re-runs of Law and Order SVU on Thursday nights, starting on October 5.

As a result, it is unclear when the show will be back for new episodes as this will depend on when the strike comes to an end.
But it is thought Law and Order SVU could return in early 2024 if negotiations begin soon, so cast and crew can start filming again.
The hit drama is far from the only show delayed because of the ongoing strikes.
Other popular series that have been postponed include Blue Bloods, NCIS, Euphoria, The White Lotus and Stranger Things.

The end could potentially be in sight though as representatives of the Writers Guild of America and the studios have agreed to meet.
This will be the first time they have been in discussions since the writers’ strike began three months ago.
So only time will tell if a conclusion will be reached so Hollywood can get back to work.
Law and Order is available to watch on NBC.
