JACOB Gallagher is seemingly happy and infatuated with a mystery woman – and his mother is determined to find out who she is.
Emmerdale wedding planner Leyla Harding becomes increasingly suspicious next week but will she like her son's new girlfriend?
Despite his chequered past with his mother Leyla, Jacob Gallagher (played by Joe-Warren Plant) has managed to build a strong bond with her in the ITV village.
However, he isn't comfortable enough to let her know he has found love again, two years after the devastating murder of his former girlfriend Leanna Cavanagh.
Since Leanna was killed off by Meena Jutla, Jacob has remained mostly single although he did bed Chloe Harris who was supposedly dating Noah Dingle at the time.
Jacob has finally found another young woman he'd like to build something serious with and, next week, Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) is suspicious of her son’s secret girlfriend.

And, most importantly, how will she react when she finds out Jacob has developed romantic feelings for Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins)?
As regular viewers of the Yorkshire-based drama will remember, Jacob Gallagher shockingly confessed his feelings for Victoria after ending up in hospital due to an allergic reaction.
This is despite Leyla trying to take Victoria down as she was responsible for the allergic reaction and his father David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) still clearly hung up on the Hide chef.

Also coming up in the Dales, David has asked Jacob to make his excuses on a second date he accidentally agreed to.
Feeling for Abby, David’s date, Jacob offers to have a drink with her as a jealous Victoria watches on.
As Jacob sees Abby off, the chemistry sizzles between him and Victoria and it’s not long before the two are locked in a passionate kiss.
Victoria comes to her senses and quickly pulls away before hurrying off, but Jacob is left thrilled.
Later on, David is struck with a glimmer of hope when he hears Victoria’s words of comfort as something more.
When Jacob collars Victoria, she can’t bring herself to let him leave and Jacob seizes the chance and lunges in for a kiss.
The following day, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) attempts to get his son David to move on but he is unable to get his mind off Victoria.
Determined to get her back, the shopkeeper sets off on a mission to start repairing bridges.
Meanwhile, having spent the night together, Jacob and Victoria are shocked when David arrives unannounced.
After an awkward interaction, Victoria manages to get rid of David who’s left bemused at how things went down.

In later scenes, Jacob is relieved to hear that David is accepting things with Victoria are over but once he leaves it’s clear that’s not actually the case.
David is set to leave Emmerdale and viewers believe he could be doing so a heartbroken man.
