Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) has been battling with Nish and Suki Panesar (Navin Chowdhry and Balvinder Sopal) for ownership of the Queen Vic in EastEnders, unaware that Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) doesn’t actually plan on selling to either of them.
Linda has been making secret phone calls for the last couple of months, promising the person on the other end that if they can raise the money then she will happily sell to them.
However, this has meant having to lie to best friend Sharon and keep the Panesars sweet, should things go wrong wit her new buyer.
In upcoming episodes, viewers will see Linda struggle to be honest with Sharon about her plans for the Vic, while the Panesars continue to act as if they already own the place.
When Linda breaks down over Mick’s ‘Presumption of Death’ certificate, Suki tells her husband that there is now nothing standing between them and owning the iconic pub.
It isn’t long before Nish and Suki are bringing their associates into the Vic, showing off their new palace.
However, they are soon pulled back down to earth as Linda confesses that she isn’t going ahead with the deal, as she has found another buyer.
While Suki expresses her anger, Nish walks away calmly, pointing out that it’s just business.
With Suki and Nish clear on the pub’s future, Linda is forced to reveal all to Sharon, who takes the news really badly.
A huge fight breaks out, with Sharon raging at Linda’s betrayal.
As things get heated, the pub doors are thrown open, and in walks the new owner of the Queen Vic: Elaine Peacock!
Linda’s mum Elaine last appeared on the Square in 2017, but is set to return to the Square with a new family.
Actress Harriet Thorpe, who has taken over the role of Elaine from Maria Friedman, revealed that viewers can expect to see: ‘Some laughs, a bit of wit, a bit of wisdom and a strong woman.’
When it comes to the reaction from Sharon and the Panesars, she teased: ‘I think they’re both hugely shocked, with big consequences.’
