On Tuesday evening, ITV viewers will see actors Adrian Dunbar and Neil Morrissey on a quest to unearth secrets from their ancestors’ past as they journey across the UK and Ireland for DNA Journey. When visiting Dromantine, the Line of Duty stars couldn’t resist referring to the BBC crime drama when meeting a fan of the show.

When both of the actors were taken to Dromantine during the episode, a worker interrupted Adrian and Neil’s meeting with two vicars.
Wheeling in a trolley of goodies full of cakes, biscuits, tea and coffee, the Line of Duty stars were thrilled at what was on offer.

Calling her Mrs Overall, Adrian commented: “Great timing, though isn’t it? You have to get a cup of tea for the lads.”

One of the vicars replied: “To come in and sit down without being offered a cuppa wouldn’t be right.”

Complimenting the food, Adrian added: “Oh my god, we’re being treated here today.”

As the two vicars explained who the actors were visiting them, the worker didn’t need an introduction as she confessed to being a fan of their BBC show.

She said: “I do, in The Line of Duty, I have to say I follow youse both.”

Laughing, Adrian replied: “Do you? Well if you come across any bent coppers let us know will ya?”

Elsewhere in the episode, the pair mentioned Adrian’s hidden talent which some viewers got to see in his role on the ITV series Ridley.

While sitting down, his lifelong friend Neil told the 64-year-old he wouldn’t be surprised if there was famous musicians in his family background, remarking: “You have a lovely voice.”

Agreeing, Adrian replied: “Yes, my mother was a great singer, very musical family. Even the sewing machine was a singer!”

In the episode, Neil details feeling disconnected from his family history after being taken into care at 10 years old.
