Lorraine blasts Gwyneth Paltrow over skiing drama
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is being sued for $300,000 by former doctor Terry Sanderson after he claimed she crashed into him whilst skiing in Utah, leaving him concussed, with broken ribs and alleged brain damage. ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly discussed the court case during Tuesday afternoon’s episode where she blasted Gwyneth’s comment on what Mr Sanderson had taken from her.
During the episode, Lorraine gave a preview of what they would be talking about in the US news.
A clip of Paltrow’s case was played where Mr Sanderson’s lawyer asked Gwyneth: “Is it true that you feel it is unfair that Mr Sanderson has brought this case against you?”
She simply replied: “I do,” before his lawyer added: “And he has deterred you from enjoying the rest of what was a very expensive vacation.”
Gywneth stated: “Well I lost half a day of skiing,” before the clip cut off and Lorraine quipped: “Oh.. half a day of skiing, diddums, boohoo.
“She went viral with that response yesterday. We are crossing over to LA with the latest Gwyneth Paltrow trial, it all got very emotional.”
Later in the episode, Lorraine was joined by US correspondent Dani Behr to discuss the latest updates from the case.
Lorraine began: “Now, yesterday Terry Sanderson the retired doctor who is suing Gwyneth Paltrow, well he took to the stand for the first time.”
A clip of Terry on the stand played where he explained: “I just remember everything was great and then I heard something that I have never heard at a ski resort.
“That was a blood-curdling scream and then boom, I don’t want you to feel like, that I’m a crippled vet and you’re going to stick it out with me, half a brain or whatever, I know you would.”
Dani commented on the moment and said: “I mean Sanderson did explain that he was left with broken ribs and brain damage after he had that crash with Gwyneth whilst she was recklessly skiing on the mountain in Utah.
“He also was very emotional and brought to tears throughout the testimonies, especially as he was unable to focus and remember things.”
Lorraine added: “It is an interesting one isn’t it because the two recollections are so poles apart.

“Very different and we also expected Gwyneth’s children to testify yesterday, that has been one of the big rumours that they would take the stand but in the end, they didn’t.”
Dani confirmed: “No that’s right, they were supposed to be, but the attorney has confirmed that instead of the kids taking the witness stand.
“They will just be including their depositions and read for the record instead which is probably a better idea.”
Agreeing with the comments Dani made about the children, Lorraine added: “I would think so as well, you wouldn’t want to put kids through that.
“Gwyneth Paltrow is a very successful actress, she makes a fortune with her website selling all sorts of weird and wonderful things, how do you think this trial will affect her career though? Will it?”
Dani explained despite the ongoing case, her successful business will survive the court case and will give her more exposure.
“[This is] an opportunity and Gwyneth is really taking a stand on a principle reason here, if she really was guilty she would have just paid the guy off and let it go quietly.
“She doesn’t need the PR, she doesn’t need to waste her time dealing with this and I feel like she is doing this to make a point of ‘don’t try to extort me, let’s tell the truth here’.”
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
