Lorraine reflects on funeral of her colleague Hannah Hawkins
Lorraine Kelly reflected on the funeral of her ITV show’s producer who died last month at just 33 years of age.
Speaking on Friday’s Lorraine, the presenter looked emotional as she explained she had attended Hannah’s funeral service on Thursday and labelled it “beautiful” as well as “terribly sad”.
Hannah tragically died soon after giving birth to her baby son, Rory, and Lorraine has previously opened up on the grief of the team.
After showing a clip from campaign group Change and Check’s song dedicated to Hannah, Lorraine stated: “The song is dedicated to our producer who recently died from secondary breast cancer.
“And we said goodbye to her yesterday, it was her funeral yesterday and it was a beautiful, beautiful service and [her] mum and dad gave amazing speeches as did her husband, Tom.”

She continued: “And baby Rory was there as well. And, you know, obviously continuing their support for Change and Check.
“It was just so good to meet all of Hannah’s family. The place was crowded and it was a real celebration of her life as well as being terribly, terribly sad.”
In early November, Lorraine announced during her show: “We’ve got some very sad news to share with you about a much-loved member of our team.
“Our producer, Hannah Hawkins, died just before the weekend after discovering that her cancer had returned only a few months ago, just shortly after she gave birth to her beautiful boy, Rory.

She was amazing at raising awareness and money for breast cancer, including taking part in the CoppaFeel! trek across the Sahara last year.
“And of course, helping out so much with her change and check campaign that I know meant so much to her.”
Lorraine continued: “Well, Doctor Hilary [Jones] is here… too young, too soon.
“It’s very difficult for all of us, especially anybody who knew her, it’s very hard.”
“Absolutely,” the ITV doctor replied. “[She was] so kind, so universally adored.
“We miss her terribly already – just 33 with a young son, it’s really a tragedy which we’re all coming to terms with.”
Lorraine airs weekdays form 10am on ITV.
