ITV Lorraine presenter Christine Lampard joked with royal editor Russell Myers about UFOs being an "easier task to deal with" than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The conversation started with Christine asking the royal editor about his thoughts on the news about UFOs being shot down in the US, where Harry and Meghan currently reside.

"I'm all for this story!" Russell said after being asked for his thoughts on the idea of aliens. "After the last two to three years of this news cycle, this is the one thing to top it off."

Christine, who is stepping in for usual host Lorraine Kelly, then said: "It'll be an easier task than having to deal with Harry and Meghan all the time anyway."

Russell laughed at Christine's comment before urging viewers to "spare a thought" for the Queen Consort after it was announced that Camilla had fallen ill after contracting Covid for the second time.

"Spare a thought for poor Camilla on Valentine's," he said. "She's isolating from the King, her lover."

Writing in the Daily Mirror, Russell slammed Prince Harry for his "lack of willingness to accept accountability for anything" after snippets from his tell-all book Spare were leaked before the book went on sale.

In the memoir, Harry gives his version of the story about the tragic death of his mother Princess Diana, life within the Royal Family and his marriage to Meghan.

Since the release, Harry has featured in two huge interviews in the UK and the US to discuss his point of view further, much to Russell's dismay.

He wrote: "Some may applaud Harry for lifting the iron curtain on the institution but the savagery and outright pettiness of some of his methods to take on his family have only led to more questions over his character – and a widening of the divide."
