Love Island fans were left in hysterics on Wednesday night as Liam Llewellyn appeared to make a pronunciation gaffe while reading a text message that revealed he had been selected to go on two dates with the new bombshells to arrive in the villa.
After spending one night single, Liam is hoping to get lucky in love as he dates both newcomers Afia Tonkmor, 27, and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 27, in the hopes of coupling up.
While many fans were happy to see Liam face a chance at love after being de-coupled from Gemma Owen on Tuesday night, many couldn’t get over the fact he misread a hashtag while reading aloud the text message to tell him about his date with Ekin-Su, who hails from Essex.
Instead of reading the hashtag #essexeducation as Essex Education, Liam adorably pronounced it as Es-sex-education, leaving countless fans at home both endearing and entertained by his unexpected gaffe.
“Es sex education….Liam bestie I believe its pronounced Essex” wrote one fan.
While another couldn’t hide their amusement as they tweeted: “Give me strength. Liam readjng #essexeducation as s-sex-education has done me in”
With a third adding: “Sorry Liam? Es sex education? You mean Essex?”
And a fourth chiming in: “I love Liam but I know he did not just say es sex education”
Meanwhile a fifth added: “Es sex education instead of Essex education. Oh Liam bless you”
Meanwhile another perfectly epitomised his faux pas when they said: “Looooool Liam "E SEX education" he is a true definition of bless your cotton socks”
Even despite his pronunciation woes, fans have been cheering on the 22 year old after he was snubbed repeatedly by Gemma Owen, despite making his best efforts to woo her.
The lovestruck lad admitted in Wednesday’s episode he thought she was “girlfriend material”, even despite her showing no such inclination towards him.
In fact, Gemma told Beach Hut that she didn't think he would “have a right to be annoyed with the situation”after she coupled up with Davide Sanclimenti in the first recouping of the show on Tuesday night.
Dismissive of many of Liam’s efforts to win her heart, many fans branded her behaviour “savage” with some even accusing Gemma of stringing him along.
Following the shock re-coupling one Twitter user commented: "Liam has a good heart, he needs to forget about Gemma tonight or he's just gonna get his heart broken."
Another wrote: "Poor Liam. Hopefully someone comes in the picture for him because Gemma isn't it."
A third added: "Poor Liam got the short straw, Gemma was way too high maintenance."
A fourth simply said: "Liam deserves better than Gemma.”
And it looks like the Strength and Conditioning student may now have his chance, with two new stunning girls vying for his heart on Thursday’s episode.
Will Liam find love after all? Viewers will have to tune in to find out.
