Love Island star Tasha’s secret comfort in the villa | The Sun

LOVE Island's Tasha Ghouri has a secret weapon to comfort her inside the villa.

The deaf model and dancer, 23, has her trust teddy, Flat Ted, by her side – and her dad has revealed how the toy has been a huge comfort to her since she was a baby as she dealt with life with a disability.

Her dad Tarek told the Daily Star on Sunday that the toy "was bought from a charity shop when Tasha was six months old. He's been with her ever since.

Tarek added: "He's been by her side through all these changes in her life, all these operations, all these visits to hospital.

"She also has a blankie which was her birth blankie and there is a little bit of blankie tied around Ted. He has spent every night with Tash and, for sure, she's talked to him about many things in her life.

"He has comforted her when she has needed it. So he's more than just a teddy to me – he's part of the family."

And Tasha made sure she packed Ted in her case to help her deal with the ups and downs of life in the villa.

Tarek explained: "Ted has been with her throughout her life, so why shouldn't he share this experience with her and comfort her? She can't talk to us and communicate with us, so I'm glad Flat Ted is by her side."

Viewers initially commented that Tasha's ted reminded them of Molly Mae Hague's own comfort toy, Ellie Boy.

Molly's elephant teddy stole the show in the 2018 series, and fans were shocked in the final when it was revealed that Ellie was, in fact, a boy.

Molly and Tommy Fury went on to finish second in the series, beaten by Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea.

But Molly and Tommy had the last laugh as they are still going strong today, having moved into their dream home together earlier this year.

Time will tell how Tasha fares in the rest of this year's series, but viewers saw her break down in tears on Friday night's episode as she was voted in the bottom three again.
