Love Island 's Maya Jama was left mortified after a brutal dig which came from Tanya Manhenga's mum and sister.

The pair appeared on the ITV2 show to speak with Maya about Tanya's antics in Casa Amor – and it seems the pair are pretty confident that Tanya will end up reuniting with Shaq.

After Tanya ditched her beau Shaq in Casa Amor and came back to the villa recoupled with Martin Akinola, Maya asked Tanya's mum and sister if Martin was her "usual type".

Immediately they both said: "Not at all," as they said that Tanya's type is "medium handsome".

They added that she "doesn't like good looking guys" and added that Martin fell into that category.

Maya immediately followed up with: "What about Shaq? Is he her type?" as they both nodded and said: "Yeah!"

The host's mouth dropped open as the audience erupted into laughter as Tanya's mum giggled and said: "Definitely!"

Fans immediately took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the comment as one person said: "She basically said Shaq is clapped… I'm screaming!"

While another said: "Medium guys… I had to scream," as another chirped: "Her mum is so real for that [laughing emojis]."

A fourth added: "Honestly, it might have been the best Aftersun of all time."

After their cheeky dig at Shaq, the pair confessed that they are still firmly rooting for Shaq and Tanya to reconcile as Tanya's mum declared they're "team Shaq".

Maya asked Tanya's mum what advice she would give her daughter which was promptly responded to with: "Go and grab your man!"

It comes days after Tanya opted to recouple while a lonely Shaq was stood waiting for her to come back to him – but he was soon left heartbroken.

Tanya declared she didn't want things to be over between the two and just wanted to test her connection with Martin.

On Sunday night's episode fans were able to see the first glimpse of Tanya and Shaq getting on again, but there's still a journey to be had for them to get back to their once strong couple.

Will they be able to revive their romance?
