The Love Island cast have enjoyed their second week in the Mallorcan sunshine.
As they bask in the sizzling sun, the Islanders are often spotted wearing sunglasses, but this isn’t just to keep the sun out of their eyes.
As well as while out in the sun, the cast have also been seen wearing their sunglasses at all times of the day, including in the evening and even while still in bed first thing in the morning.
Their unusual morning accessories have left viewers perplexed about why the singletons seem so eyewear-obsessed.
Here are the reasons behind why the Islanders wear their shades so much.
Why do the Love Island cast wear sunglasses in the morning?
As the cameras capture the Love Island cast waking up in the morning, the couples are usually seen snuggled up in bed with sunglasses on.
It seems a bizarre time to wear sunglasses and it’s led to a lot of speculation from viewers.
Some think that the Islanders are trying to hide their morning faces, while others reckon they might just be trying to look cool.
Both might be true, but it turns out that there’s also another more practical reason for the early morning sunnies – the incredibly bright lights in the bedroom.
2019 Love Island contestant Elma Pazar revealed to fans on Twitter the real reasons that the cast wear their sunglasses in the morning.
She said: "The light is so bright when it flicks on and also I don't know many people that wake up pretty in the mornings.
"The more of the face hidden before it's washed the better!"
Why was Davide wearing sunglasses at night?
The bright light in the bedrooms might explain why sunglasses are worn inside in the mornings, but what about in the evening?
The Islanders are sometimes spotted wearing sunglasses at night and last night Davide drew viewers' attention when he kept his sunglasses on all day and into the evening, at one point even putting a pair of shades over his regular glasses.
Some viewers thought that Davide was wearing the sunglasses to hide his emotions as Ekin-Su had her head turned by newcomer Jay Younger.
But narrator Iain Stirling hinted that he might have been wearing sunglasses in the evening to stop the cameras and fellow contestants from spotting his wandering eyes.
Commenting on Davide’s shades, Iain said: “The other day Davide got caught stealing glances at Gemma when he was talking to Ekin-Su so he’s come up with a cunning plan to avoid being spotted again."
