Paige Thorne and Adam Collard were dumped from Love Island, just one day before the finale, in Sunday 31 July's episode.
24-year-old paramedic Paige was sent packing from the villa along with the 26-year-old Personal Trainer after being voted 'the least compatible' by their fellow Islanders and the public.
And in his exit chat, Adam admitted ha has "grown up" since his last appearance on the show and "cares about people more" these days.
Earlier in the episode, Paige's mum revealed she "wasn't buying" her romance with Adam.
She explained to her smitten daughter: "The way you was with Jacques was completely different, you were a lot of more you and bouncy and full of personality, with Adam it seems a lot more different."
But Paige argued: "With Jacques, he did bring out a different side of me, bubbly and all that but there were some bits that really weren't okay."
Adam, who entered the villa as a surprise bombshell, instantly hit it off with Paige, marking the exit of Jacques, who had been coupled up with Paige.
Speaking about he re-entry into the Love Island villa after appearing in the 2018 series, Adam said: “It was nerve wracking this time because I kind of had my presumptions about people because I got to watch it on the screen before I went in."
When asked why he chose to return to the show, Adam said. “I know how good of an experience I had last time. If I’m lucky enough to find someone like Paige – which I was – it’s amazing”.
Explaining how he had fallen head over heels for Paige, he added: "She’s just amazing. I never expected to come in and be like that. I knew that I had this side of my personality, it just takes me longer than other people to get there.
"I never thought I’d cry in the Beach Hut. Paige is unreal, she doesn’t step a foot wrong. She is the real deal”.
He went on: “I definitely have grown up and I care about what people think a little bit more. I’m definitely a lot less selfish and I think about people’s feelings more. So maybe I have grown as a person."
The pair even discussed their plans post Love Island and admitted they had already spoken about a trip to Swansea with Paige – and then a possible trip to Newcastle, to visit Adam's hometown.
"I think I need to pitch her Newcastle very, very well. I’m really excited to go and see her family," Adam said.
"I’m just excited to go and do all the fun things with her. I want to go on dates. We have really got something good here. I just want to run with it to be honest. I see her in my future and I think she feels the same. We’re going to make it work."
