Love Island's Gemma Owen set to 'make a fortune' from her swimwear line after being 'bombarded' with offers | The Sun

GEMMA Owen is going to hit it rich after high street giants have set their sights on collaborating with her swimwear company in big money deals.

According to reports,the popular islander is "set to make a fortune" after her management company were "bombarded" with offers.


Gemma, 19, owns her own line called OG Beachwear and interest in the business has rocketed following her appearance on the hit ITV2 show.

A source told Daily Mail: "Win or lose, Gemma will make a fortune from Love Island through her fashion label. Since going on the programme orders have skyrocketed.

And there's also been increasing interest from high street chains and online retailers who would like to discuss working with Gemma. She could make hundreds of thousands.'

Gemma's business venture is a project she started with her mum Louise.

The company's website reads: "OG Beachwear is the brainchild of myself, Gemma Owen.

"I have always been ambitious and from a very young age I have represented Great Britain in their equestrian dressage teams with the unwavering support from my parents, particularly my mother and best friend, Louise. 

'Up until recent years I believed that was the career path for me but as much as I love my sport and have dedicated many years to it, upon leaving education I decided to take a different career path. 

"My other passions are travel and fashion and that is how the dream of having my own swimwear label was born.

"After studying Business and researching the swimwear fashion industry and what it would take to develop a swimwear collection, in 2020 I decided to go for it. 

"For the following year, during the height of the global pandemic, I planned and developed the idea and OG Beachwear was created."

Gemma has previously revealed, however, that her dad Michael is banned from wearing any of her collections.

“Well, apparently I’ve tried to wear some of the shorts and she’s said, ‘No dad bods’,” Michael said on Walking The Dog podcast.

Gemma added: “He’s banned.”

Michael continued: “I’m banned – ‘no dad bods in my shorts’. I’m willing to put in a big order, but she’s still saying ‘no’.”
