Liam Llewellyn has finally found out who Gemma Owen's famous dad is – and it turns out he's a huge fan.
The 22 year old Welsh student, who was initially coupled up with the brunette beauty at the start of the hit ITV dating programme Love Island, gathered Islanders around the fire pit last week to announce the news he was leaving the villa.
And in his first interview since then, he's found out at Gemma's dad is none other than former professional football player Michael, 42, who has played for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City as well as the England national team in the past.
Hearing the news on Aftersun, he shared his shock over the revelation and noted that he is a United fan.
"I can't believe who that actually was. That's mad. I'm a United fan. I actually have one of his tops when he came to the club," he told the hosts on Sunday 12 June evening.
He then recalled a conversation he had about football with Gemma as he continued: "That first night, we were chatting about football and her family. I was so close. I can't believe I didn't quite work it out."
Following his exit from the brand new Majorcan villa, Liam reunited with his phone and shared his first message on social media platform Instagram.
"Yes people, it’s Liam! I’m back. I am absolutely blown away by the love and support that has been shown to me whilst I was in the villa and since I’ve been out," he wrote.
Liam added: “I appreciate you all like you wouldn’t believe #loveislandbaby.”
During his exit speech last week, Liam explained to his fellow Islanders that he hadn't been giving 100 per cent to his experience on the show.
He told them: "I haven't really been feeling like I have been giving 100 per cent Liam. I know what 100 per cent Liam looks like and I have miles off that.
"Trying to find someone to leave the villa that you care about – that's the goal isn't it. When you are not feeling that, it makes it a very hard sort of time to find that.

"I have been thinking long and hard. I have made the decision that I am going to leave the villa."
He continued: "I’ve been thinking long and hard, this isn’t a spur of the moment type thing… So yeah, you’re all unreal."
In an interview with The Sun before he entered the villa, Liam opened up about “not being picked” was a “nerve-wracking thought”.
He told the publication: “Something I am most nervous about is probably the feeling of not being wanted in a recoupling or something, not being picked.

"Everyone wants to be wanted, and wants to be picked. So it’s the feeling of not being picked is a nerve-wracking thought for me."
He went on: "That feeling of being rejected, it's never a nice feeling.
"It puts you in a vulnerable position and that's in front of the whole world. And you’re vulnerable to everyone. I think that’s a position I don't think anyone would want to find themselves in."
