Love Island’s Molly ‘to rake in thousands’ while co-star left with ‘£1 per post’

While many Love Island contestants will walk away from the villa without the love of their lives, they’ll hopefully come home with thousands of new Instagram followers and a couple of lucrative business deals.

In recent years, ITV fans have watched the motivation for going on the show shift from finding love to catapulting a new career including fashion, beauty and entertainment deals.

Series five champ Amber Gill, series three star Chris Hughes and last year's winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu are just a few of the OG Islanders that have gone to go bag some serious cash.

And of course, not forgetting Molly-Mae, possibly the show’s most successful star who is estimated to be worth £4.5 million.

But according to one PR expert, Islanders could be in with a chance of potentially earning “four figures” for social media posts after finding fame in the ITV dating show.

According to digital marketing experts at 10yetis, one islander could be raking in thousands while their co-stars could bag less than £60 per social media post.

The Daily Star spoke exclusively to an expert to find out how much money some of the 2023 Islanders could learn after the show.

“Everyone besides André, George and Mehdi currently have the potential to be earning triple digits on their Instagram posts – just Molly has the potential to be earning 4-figures for her posts over on TikTok – but it’s such early days,” says co-founder ofwww.10yetis.co.ukAndy Barr.

“As we get to know the Islanders, as we meet new Islanders and as drama no doubt unfolds, these numbers will surely change.”

What’s more, the financial expert thinks social media star Molly will bag nearly £8,000 for just one TikTok video.

With an already- impressive 660,000 followers on TikTok and 46,000 on Instagram, it’s clear to see that “Molly Marsh is miles ahead of all the other contestants.”

As for the gents this series, it’s George Fensom who is also likely to bag a big brand deal despite his short-lived time on the show.

He went on: “What’s particularly interesting to see is that George’s social followings have skyrocketed since he left the villa.

“He joined with just 271 followers and prior to leaving the villa he still had just 468 followers on TikTok; look now though and he’s got over 14,000 followers – an increase of over 5,000%.

“It just goes to show that fans of Love Island aren’t as engaged on social media as they used to be now that contestants’ social media accounts aren’t active for their stint in the villa.

“But of course, when their favourites leave then they consider following them for the insider knowledge, behind the scenes goss and to see if they really are like how they came across on our TV screens,” he concluded.

When looking at which Islanders could earn the least through social media posts, the PR company concluded that Mehdi Edno and Scott van-der-Suis could earn as little as £1 per TikTok video, so it may not be worth giving up the day job.
