Love Island's Tasha dated Netflix's Too Hot To Handle star just THREE months before going into the villa

LOVE Island star Tasha Ghouri dated Too Hot To Handle's Robert Van Tromp, it was claimed today.

The 23-year-old model, who is the show's first deaf Islander, dated reality star Robert, 30, in October last year and the pair were together for five months.

Netflix star Robert and dancer Tasha called it quits just three months before Tasha was announced for the ITV2 show.

"Robert is gutted after seeing Tasha on Love Island," a source told the MailOnline.

"She ticks all his boxes and he had hoped to reconnect with her after regretting their breakup.

"Tasha is the one that got away and he believes he let a gem go, watching her on the show this summer won't be easy for him."

Robert, who appeared on the second series of the popular Netflix franchise which aired in June 2021, previously dated Christina Carmela but the pair ended last year.

“I wouldn’t say it’s civil. I think the break-up was civil but we certainly have different interests and priorities in life. I think that has potentially hindered any kind of friendship moving forward," he said on Access All Areas.

Back in January, he confirmed that he was back on the dating scene: “I hadn’t touched a dating app for 6 or 7 years so going on that was madness really. Kind of in this jungle of opportunity.”

Meanwhile Tasha has already got everyone talking since her debut on the ITV2 dating show last night.

Tasha said she has really high standards: "Someone who's confident, honest, sexy". Some might argue that's what all people want in a partner.

The villa's first contestant with a disability referred to her deafness as a 'superpower'.

Tasha may already be a familiar face to fans of pop star MNEK having starred in his and Sleepwlkers' More Than Words music video.

The professional dancer, who has a cochlear implant and is Love Island's first ever deaf contestant, showed off her impressive moves in the 2020 video.

Poignantly, the song was a celebration of the deaf community and every dancer featured is deaf and hard of hearing.

The routines were born from how the dancers felt the music – much like Rose Ayling-Ellis did on her way to victory on Strictly.

Ahead of the series, Tasha said: "That was my first major music video. Surprisingly enough it was about him celebrating the deaf community. It was such a great, exciting opportunity."

The Asos model is Instagram friends with Strictly's Rose and is hopeful they can finally meet in person once she leaves the villa.

"I think Rose is such an amazing role model," she said. "I love Strictly as well because I'm a dancer. It's amazing to see what she did, so beautiful and sent a powerful message and she's also representing me as well as the deaf community as well.

"Hopefully after the show I can meet up with her and share our experiences and share our stories because she seems like such an amazing person."

Tasha wants the experience to make 'the summer of my life' and the self-described wild girl won't be holding back.

And while she's proud to be an ambassador for the deaf community and raise the awareness around her condition, it doesn't define her.

She said: "I haven't let anything stop me. I'm going in as me, not just the girl with the cochlear implant. It's my super power, it's something cool that I have about me.

"My best personality trait is I'm loyal to my friends and my guy. I'm super honest, I don't shy away from anything. I'm very trustworthy, people do come to me if they're upset or if they need a shoulder to cry on.

"I like to resolve things on the spot. I don't like to leave things to get worse. I'm quite confrontational as well, but I try to do it in a polite manner.

"I always go with my heart. If I do get my heart broken I do believe in second chances. It's all about compromise and talking it out. I 'm not cutthroat like 'I'm cutting you out now'.

"I'm a very honest person, and I'm a girl's girl as well. I'm not the kind of girl to go behind their backs and be sly. Honesty is the best policy."
