Married At First Sight fans took to social media as the new series kicked off on Monday, to comment on one particular feature of the new brides – their lips.
One fan joked during the show on Monday, 18 September: "They need to turn the heating down or those faces gonna melt", while another asked if there was "enough lip filler to go around".
While most of the comments seemed good natured, one viewer accused the women of "lying" to their husbands-to-be by changing their appearance.
"My unpopular opinion is things like lip filler and makeup we see on shows like this should be banned," they said. "It's essentially just lying to people… that isn't what you actually look like".
The women didn't discuss their beauty regimes together, but that didn't stop the comments on social media.
One fan posted a photo of a woman with comically large lips, and wrote, "These girls all have one thing in common…".
Another asked, "B****y Hell, some of those women look exactly the same. I'm surprised they can even speak their faces are so frozen ." One viewer went even further and slammed their personalities as well as their looks, commenting, "Move with your ugly lip fillers and worse attitudes."
It wasn't all bad though, there were high hopes for new couple Luke, 30, and sales manager Jay, 31 who seemed to get off to a great start as husband and wife after saying their I Dos, despite Jay initially worrying he new hubby didn't "fancy" her.
Jay shared that she was worried sales exec Luke wouldn't find her attractive because of her disability – her missing lower left arm. Thankfully Jay put her mind at ease after their vows.
"If you've got a disability it doesn't define you as a person," he told one of her friends at their wedding breakfast. "I'm 100 per cent attracted to her, I swear to God I am."
He continued, "When she walked down the aisle I was shocked how beautiful she was. I can't stress enough how good this match is. I asked for something and they delivered it."
Things didn't go quite so smoothly for the second married couple of the night – designer-loving Laura and groom Arthur, a 34-year-old tennis coach.
The bride, 34, looked less than impressed and described her new hubby as "a little rough around the edges" – not the "Chelsea boy" she'd asked for.
In her vows, Laura told her husband not to talk to her in the morning until she'd had her "oat milk latte".
"I just worry he isn't taking this as seriously as I am," she told the show producers on camera. "This is a wedding you should be showing up for it, especially if you're marrying me." Although she appeared to soften by the end of the big day, admitting her new husband might have "layers", and telling him he was inspirational.
