MAFS: First trans bride discussing why she deserves love
Married at First Sight UK viewers were left squirming over Laura Vaughan, 29, and Arthur Poremba’s wedding which aired on Monday evening.
Ahead of meeting Arthur down the aisle on the Channel 4 programme, Laura made it clear she wanted a well-spoken “Chelsea boy” who she could enjoy champagne brunches with.
The finance manager told the producers: “The dream would be a 10/10 with personality, I don’t want a project.”
Arthur, a tennis coach who hails from Poland, was looking forward to meeting Laura, but he did struggle with his vows as English is not his first language.
When they met at the altar, Laura’s vows were not very serious as she joked about oat milk lattes and her expectations.

In stark contrast to her vows were Arthur’s. He admitted to his groomsmen before the wedding that he had to Google what to write.
He even told Laura he loved her while reading his vows against the advice of his close friends.
Laura looked perplexed at his declaration of love which occurred just minutes after they met, and fans were left squirming.

The day took an even more awkward turn when Laura found out Arthur needed the internet’s help to write his vows.
She was left furious but told producers she’d address the issue on their honeymoon.
However, she seemed to soften during the speeches after learning more about her husband’s backstory, telling Arthur: “The best man speech was really lovely, I just feel like it was really inspirational how he said you came to this country and didn’t speak a word of English.”
Is there hope for the couple after all and will they make it through to the final commitment ceremony?
