Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) is left terrified in Coronation Street next week, as she realises that she’s being stalked.
The local councillor, as viewers know, has had a lot to cope with in recent weeks, after a deepfake porn video – featuring her likeness – was shared on the internet.
Next week, however, things escalate quite dramatically.
Maria is nervous about going to a lunch meeting on her own, and thus Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) offers to accompany her.
Jimmy, however, approaches her and warns her to keep her nose out of matters she doesn’t understand.
If that wasn’t terrifying enough, a creepy guy then approaches, and tells Maria how much he ‘enjoyed’ her online video.
Maria, horrified, understandably gets out of dodge, and the above preview clip – taken from Wednesday’s (July 13) edition of the ITV soap – reveals what happens next.
On the phone to Gary Windass (Mikey North), Maria is horrified when she receives a notification to her device, informing her that a third party knows of her location.
Gary, confused by his wife’s sudden silence, asks Maria to come back to the phone, and she ultimately does just that, revealing that she thinks she’s being followed.
Will Maria report her stalking nightmare to the police? What’s more, just who is watching her?
Coronation Street airs these scenes Wednesday July 13 at 8pm on ITV.
