Married At First Sight star April Banbury’s reality TV past revealed – here’s where you’ve seen her before | The Sun

MARRIED At First Sight’s April Banbury is one of the stars of this year’s series, set to walk down the aisle and marry a total stranger.

But for former Miss GB April, 32, this isn’t her first stint on reality TV as she’s actually starred on two other shows.

April starred on The Cabins in November 2020, where she shared a log cabin with model Ryan Darvill and took a fancy to.

As well as the hit ITV2 show, wedding dress designer April also starred on Channel 5 show The Batchelor in 2011, and finished in third place while competing for the love of Welsh rugby player Gavin Henson.

She swapped her life in the spotlight to be a dressmaker, but it appears she’s ready for reality shows again and she’s perfectly placed to whip up her own frock on the show if needed.

April lives by the ethos of “live everyday like it’s your last,” and she’s said that an essential quality in her partner-to-be is that they’ll “love cheese.”

April recently opened up on her heartbreaking health battle, and said she nearly died from anorexia.

The brunette beauty previously opened up to MirrorOnline about her eating disorder turmoil which began aged 13.

She told the publication she put her disordered relationship with food down to the split of her parents when she was aged eight, causing feelings of rejection.

Raised by her Olympic sportsman father Ian and nan Dorothy, she said: "At my lowest point I weighed three-and-a-half stone.

"There’s a picture of me on a bicycle and I look so gaunt, I was in the worst place possible. Dad took that picture to show how bad it was.

"It was very distressing for Dad and Nan. I ended up in hospital for over a week, I nearly died. That was the wake-up call I needed."

April, who has supported charity SEED Lancashire, told how she got back on track with expert help.

She added: "I was about 18, it was a long slow process. Anorexia is a mental disorder, a mind over matter thing.

"You have to train the mind to no longer play tricks and that food is no longer the enemy.”
