Great Celebrity Bake Off is back, welcoming some big names to the iconic tent all in the name of Channel 4’s charity campaign, Stand Up to Cancer. As always, famous faces from the worlds of TV, film, sport, comedy and music put on their aprons, ready to have their treats reviewed by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. Express.co.uk has the lowdown on who will be appearing in the first episode of Great Celebrity Bake Off this weekend.
Who are the stars in Great Celebrity Bake Off episode 1?
David Schwimmer
Everyone will recognise actor David Schwimmer for portraying Ross Gellar in the unforgettable comedy-drama Friends.
He was at the heart of the main on-off romance with Rachel Green, played by actress Jennifer Aniston, during the series’ 10-year stint.
Since then, he has also worked on Madagascar, Band of Brothers, Intelligence and Will and Grace, just to list some of his work.
He signed up for the Channel 4 series as cancer has closely affected his family over the years.
Schwimmer explained: “I lost a grandmother to cancer, my daughter lost a grandmother to cancer and my sister is a cancer survivor, so it’s important to me.
“I am just grateful I can help in any small way to raise more awareness.
“I am here to have fun. I am here to raise money for a great charity.
“It’s a great cause and I happen to be a massive fan of the show.”
Jesy Nelson
Jesy Nelson rose to fame in 2011 when she, along with fellow Little Mix band members Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall won The X Factor.
The girl band had a string of hits during their reign in the pop charts, including Black Magic, Woman Like Me, Shout Out to My Ex, DNA and Heartbreak Anthem.
After nine years, Jesy left the band, explaining in a statement the pressures of being in a band had an impact on her mental health.
She has since gone solo, having released her first song Boyz featuring Nicki Minaj in 2021.

UK fans will probably remember Rose for starring in the 2019 season of Taskmaster.
Five years ago, she won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for her show Horndog.
Tom Davis
Actor and comedian Tom Davis is best known for his role as DI Sleet in the BBC Three sitcom Murder in Successville.
In more recent years, the 6ft 7in star played the lead role of Gary King in the BBC comedy King Gary.
He has also appeared in Plebs, The Curse and Romantic Getaway.
Great Celebrity Bake Off starts on Sunday, March 19, at 7.45pm on Channel 4.
