Tony Blackburn chats to Lorraine about I’m a Celeb 2023 campmates
BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty was left charmed by I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner Tony Blackburn on Saturday morning as they discussed the launch tomorrow night.
Tony was crowned King of the Jungle back in 2002 but during his interview with Naga and Charlie Stayt, he set his sights on charming the presenter.
Welcoming him to the show, Naga said: “Tony Blackburn, the original King of the Jungle joins us now, can you believe it has been 21 years? Did you think this programme would continue?”
Wanting to get in her good books, Tony expressed: “Well you obviously didn’t see it as you weren’t born then.”
Laughing, Naga blushed: “Oh you charmer, you charmer,” before Tony continued: “I just thought it was a really good show 21 years ago.

“It has changed a lot now, some of the trials are just awful, I wouldn’t like to do them anymore.
“I thought it would last quite a long time, not quite 21 years but it still gets some really big audiences, and of course, I tune in for Ant and Dec.”
Charlie was curious to find out Tony’s thoughts on former MP Nigel Farage entering the jungle after Matt Hancock led the way last year.
Tony said: “Last year it was Matt Hancock that was in there and very controversial, this year it’s Nige Farage which everyone is talking about and a lot of people say ‘Why do politicians go in there?’.
“You get these controversial people in there for the publicity and it is great for the show, whether politicians should go in there, no idea.

“Nigel Farage will be interesting to see, a lot of people will say ‘I’m not going to watch it because Nigel Farage is in there’ but they will and it is going to be interesting to see.”
Josie Gibson is already the favourite to win the series, as bookmakers BetVictor priced up her odds win outright at 11/4.
Sam Boswell, spokesperson of BetVictor, has shared his insight and said: “We couldn’t split the trio of Sam, Frankie, and Josie at the head of the betting and made them 4/1 co-favourites.
“But now Josie is leading the market on her own, coming in as our 11/4 favourite to be crowned Queen of the Jungle.
“The former Big Brother winner is hilarious on This Morning and never takes herself too seriously – I could see Josie making the final!”
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! returns Sunday, November 19 from 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
