NCIS: LA season finale teased in promo clip
CBS’ long-running procedural drama, NCIS Los Angeles will officially come to an end on Friday, marking an end to its 14-season run.
While fans prepare to say farewell to the beloved cast, Marty Deeks star Eric Christian Olsen took to social media to celebrate major career news.
Unlike his role as the fierce LAPD-NCIS Liaison Officer, Olsen will work behind the scene for the upcoming release of Matlock.
The new show is a reboot of the 1986 drama and has been ordered by CBS for the 2023-2024 broadcast season led by Kathy Bates.
The actor shared the exciting news on Instagram as he posted the trailer and provided major insight in the caption.

Olsen wrote: “Can’t wait for you guys to see this show!!! Sunday nights. After @60minutes Only @cbstv / @paramountplus !!!
“Shout out to the genius that is Jennie Snyder Urman, Kathy Bates, @skyepmarshall, @jason_ritter @leahmlewis @daviddelrio @ikwuakor @jokleinonline @annarvjones John Will. @sierraobioha @meagentaja and directed by the magical @katcoiro!!”
He teased: “I guarantee you will love this show and if you don’t we’re breaking up. #letlovelive.” (sic)
This sparked a major frenzy among fans as they rushed to the comments to congratulate the star.

Among the messages of praise, Olsen’s NCIS LA co-stars also shared their excitement for the actor.
Brian Dietzen, who plays Dr Jimmy Palmer in the flagship show NCIS, shared the trailer for the show on his Instagram Stories and wrote: “Congrats @ericcolsen!! Can’t wait to see it!”
Renée Felice Smith who previously starred alongside Olsen as Nell Jones also posted the trailer.
She captioned: “My friend @ericcolsen’s new show MATLOCK starring the one and only Kathy Bates was just picked up and I’m over here celebrating this HUGE WIN!”
In a previous interview, Olsen disclosed: “It’s so exciting and overwhelming and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
Speaking on the production, he explained: “Jenny Snyder Urman, who is our creator who created Jane the Virgin, which was a show that got five seasons of like 100 on Rotten Tomatoes.
“She is a legitimate genius and she has constructed something so stunningly beautiful and thematically strong. It’s remarkable,” the actor added to ET Canada.
NCIS Los Angeles season 14 concludes Sunday on CBS in the USA and on Sky Max in the UK.
