Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) has been nobody’s idea of father of the year since his daughter Esther was born in Emmerdale last year. From the outset he rejected the idea of having a baby in his life, arguing it would hold him back and stop him from living his life to its full exciting potential.
He was cruel to Amelia (Daisy Campbell) and at one point even called social services to have Esther taken into care.
Meanwhile Noah (Jack Downham) has been a loving and caring partner to Amelia and has done his best to look after her and the baby. And when Samson recently started showing more of an interest in Esther, Samson was suspicious.
In coming episodes Noah is devastated to learn his apprenticeship with Marcus (Darcy Grey) has come to an end and he’s desperately searching for work. While he’s meeting a potential new employer Amelia needs someone to take care of Esther and Samson volunteers.
Samson enjoys winding Noah up when he returns, and Noah’s suspicious as Samson seems to be doing his best to get into Amelia’s good books.
The reason for his sudden interest becomes clear – it’s the money that Noah got from his trust fund that he’s after, and he’s soon manipulating Noah into offering him a cash sum to keep away from Esther.
It seems Samson’s plan has worked when Noah offers him £2,000. But will that be enough to keep Samson away, or will he be back for more?
And how will Amelia react when she learns that Noah paid her baby’s father to stay away?
