Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton play Outlander trivia game
Outlander’s long-awaited seventh season will finally land on Starz in June, with fans eager to be transported back to Fraser’s Ridges.
As the romance drama ended on a major cliffhanger, viewers are anxiously awaiting to learn more about Claire Fraser’s (played by Caitriona Balfe) fate.
The last time fans saw the war nurse she had been carted off to Wilmington to face trial after she was wrongfully accused of murdering Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds).
Although many fear Claire could be sentenced to death, the actress dropped a major tease about her character’s future which seemingly confirms Claire’s survival.
Caitriona Balfe made a recent appearance on the Irish chat show, The Late Late Show, where she dished on the upcoming drama.
Balfe confirmed filming for season eight will begin in just a few months’ time.
The actress stated: “We’re about to start shooting, in a few months, our eighth season but our seventh season is starting to air on June 16th on Lionsgate +.”
Although this will spark huge excitement among fans, the news may also be met with dread as season eight is the final instalment of Outlander.
In January, Starz confirmed the series end as network boss Kathryn Busby stated: “For nearly a decade Outlander has won the hearts of audiences worldwide and we’re pleased to bring Claire and Jamie’s epic love story to a proper conclusion.

“But before we close this chapter there is plenty of their passionate story to tell over the course of 26 new episodes and even more to explore of this dynamic world and its origin story.
“We’re thrilled to continue to partner with Matthew, Maril and Ronald and can’t wait to see where their alluring storytelling takes us next,” Kathryn concluded.
Although the beloved series will conclude with season eight, fans will soon be able to watch the prequel series, Blood of My Blood.
It will tell the love story of Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie.
As fans await for more details to emerge about the upcoming spin-off, it was revealed season eight will have 10 episodes.
So far, many speculate it will be adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s books eight and nine, Written in My Own Heart’s Blood and Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.
Young Ian star John Bell teased the unexpected as he hinted: “We’re going to go out with a bang and tell the story the way it should be.”
Although the conclusion can be found in the novels, viewers will have to stay tuned as the show has often strayed from the original storyline.
Outlander season 7 will premiere on Friday, June 16 on Starz in the USA and on Lionsgate+ in the UK.
