After Tyson Fury's recent bout in the ring against Francis Ngannou, the heavyweight champ declared he intends to fight on. However, his wife of 15 years Paris Fury is reportedly worried about him.
Paris, who gave birth to their seventh child Prince Rico Paris Fury just over a month ago, flew out to the Middle East to support Tyson in the belief that this would be his penultimate fight.
But, the 33-year-old was caught off guard when she learned from iFL TV that he’d signed up for two further bouts – at the very least.
When asked if she wanted him to fight on or retire, Paris appeared visibly uncomfortable, admitting she was a “nervous wreck”.
She said, “I’m hoping after Usyk [his upcoming fight against Oleksandr Usyk] that will be the end of it.”
And when it was then pointed out to her that he’d be facing Usyk on two more occasions, she stated this “was news to her” and said she’d “hoped to have him home."
Now, a source has revealed that Paris in fact, "worries about him every time he steps into the ring and she hates that feeling."
“It’s been very stressful for her and yet Tyson won’t stop. He feels that fighting keeps him in a positive mental state. Paris is worried because she knows the physical effects a fight can have on him,” the source continued.
Paris' feelings towards Tyson's boxing career were well documented in the family's Netflix show, At Home with the Furys.
In the series, the 33-year-old mum of seven spoke of wanting The Gypsy King to walk away from the sport before he got seriously hurt and opened up about the the turmoil she goes through every time he puts on the gloves and enters the ring.
It appears those fears and worries don't go unnoticed by her husband, who she began dating when she was 15 and he was 17. Indeed, Tyson recently sympathised over her concerns for his safety.
The 35-year-old previously admitted he looks death right between the eyes every time he fights and said he'd be a "nervous wreck" if it was Paris knowingly putting herself in danger again and again.
The couple recently welcomed their seventh child, Prince Rico Paris. They are also parents to Venezuela, 14, Prince John James, 11, Prince Tyson II, seven, Valencia, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, four, and Athena, two.
